Lawrence Public Library presents the Kaw Valley Jukebox as an ongoing document of the region’s vital, evolving music scene. KVJB offers commercial-free, curated music from the Northeast Kansas region. Our intent is to connect patrons with new music from local artists, and for local musicians to reach new listeners, while keeping record of the rich musical history of the area.
The music on KVJB is entirely free to stream on mobile devices and desktops, and Lawrence Public Library card holders are able to save their favorite tracks and albums to a playlist. Music lovers can also support local musicians directly via the social media and direct payment links on our artists’ pages.
Kaw Valley Jukebox thanks Mass Street Music and I Heart Local Music. Without their collaboration, generosity, and hours of hard work on the Lawrence Music Project, KVJB would not have been possible.

What you'll find
About
Digital Douglas County History (DDCH) is an online history portal that brings together the old and the new using the latest digital technologies to make materials from Douglas County’s rich and varied history available to as broad an audience as possible.
Preserving history matters
Historical materials shed light on the beliefs, struggles, and values of our community and bring us to a better understanding of life in the past. However, they provide more than just a view of how things used to be.
Understanding the past can help us navigate the present and shape the future — offering examples to guide our decisions and inspiring us with stories of the actions of our forebears.
Offered in partnership from Watkins Museum of History and Lawrence Public Library.
