Applying for a new Library Card
Any resident of Northeast Kansas is eligible to obtain a library card at no charge.
Online Registration
What you need:
- Verifiable Northeast Kansas residence.
- Be 18 years or older, or a minor 13 years and older with guardian permission.
- Email address.
What you get:
- eCard number.
- Immediate access to the digital library.
- Access online research resources.
- Ability to place three holds on physical items.
What you should do after:
Stop by the Accounts desk in the library with a photo ID to upgrade your account and start using our physical collection.
In Person Registration
What you need:
- Visit the Accounts desk in the library.
- A valid photo ID -
- State driver’s license
- State ID
- Passport
- Military ID
- Student ID
- Proof of address
- ID with current address
- A bill
- Paystub
- Lease agreement
- Change of address form
- The applicant’s or applicant’s legal guardian’s name must appear on the proof of address
- Be 18 years or older or have a parent or legal guardian present.
- If applying for a child, parent or legal guardian must bring the child to the library when picking up the card.
What you get:
- A physical library card for your wallet and key chain.
- Immediate access to the digital library.
- Access online research resources.
- Up to 25 holds and 50 checkouts on physical items
- Access to the Sound+Vision Studio
