The Lawrence Public Library's Teen Advisory Board is proud to present their brand new Art Club! Teen Advisory Board is a club for any 6th-12th grader interested in sharing their creativity, collaborating with their peers, and helping Teen Zone staff continue to provide fun and interesting programming. The incredible folks in TAB have been working behind the scenes for the past few months to bring you an all new event.
Art Club will take place monthly in the Readers' Theater and will focus on learning new skills, exploring different mediums, and learning from local artists. Our upcoming program on December will center around creating and decorating unique and expressive animal masks. One of our newest members proposed the founding of the club because of her love for mask making.
This upcoming January, we'll shake off the cold and collaborate with some art games. From Picture Consequences, a collaborative drawing game to the classic Pictionary, there's something for all skill levels. In February, we'll work with Lawrence Artist and LPL's own Liza MacKinnon to create vision board collages.
If you have any ideas for future installments of Art Club or want to help with other programs, please join the Teen Advisory Board! We're always accepting new members and we would love to hear from you. Art Club is available to 6th-12th graders and will go all year round. Once we've built up some creations, Art Club will present a mini-gallery in the Teen Zone stacks for everyone to enjoy.
We hope to see you there!
