Join us for the After Hours Market!

Have you ever been to the library after hours? This is your chance! The Lawrence Public Library Foundation will host the "After Hours Market" fundraising event on Saturday, March 2 from 7-10 PM at the library. This year’s casual party celebrates the underground farmers market theme in the Read Across Lawrence pick, Sourdough by Robin Sloan.

Join us for a free-range night at the library with certified fresh food and baked goods, organic conversation, and a few locally grown GMOs (Great Music Offerings). Try your luck with the new card catalog prize pull and get a caricature portrait made. Lawrence’s Bourgeois Pig will stir up a signature cocktail while eight restaurants and five farmers market vendors serve excellent food.

The evening also will include the Foundation’s wildly popular themed basket fundraiser. Donated by local businesses, non-profit organizations, book clubs, groups of friends, and supporters of the library, each basket is valued at $100 or more. They feature gift certificates from local stores and restaurants, an Instant Pot with all the fixings, an authentic signed Patrick Mahomes jersey, and more. Drawings will be held at the After Hours event on March 2. Themed baskets will be on display in the library lobby from this Saturday, February 23 until the end of the party on March 2 so everyone can buy chances to win. You do not have to attend the party to win.

We cannot thank the community enough for inspiring and supporting this event. We are especially grateful to Crown Automotive and Burlington Northern Santa Fe for serving as our 2018 Signature Sponsors. Their support transforms the library’s ability to provide crucial literacy programs for our community, and lets us have fun in the process!

Reservations for After Hours at the Library are $50 per person and can be made here. Every penny of the proceeds benefit Lawrence Public Library.

See you there!
