The Recording Studio
Welcome to Studio!
The SOUND+VISION Recording Studio is a free community resource for all your audio recording needs. To book a session, you just need to be at least 18 years old and have a Lawrence Public Library card in good standing. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned musician looking to produce your next album, the studio has everything you need!
The Recording Studio includes 2 rooms:
- The Control Room - Where the recording process is monitored and controlled. It features a Mac computer loaded with the leading audio software, Apogee audio interfaces, a Presonus control surface and monitor speakers, and even a custom modular synthesizer.
- The Live Room - Where music is performed. Typically, a performer plays and sings into microphones in the live room and is recorded to the computer in the control room. Drums, guitars, amps, keyboards, and microphones are all available for free with your library card. An entire band can even record all at once - in a library!
Common Recording Studio projects:
