Senior Resource Center 

SRC informs about and creates opportunities that allow older residents of Douglas County to remain independent and active in their homes and communities and assists them with necessary transitions.

Disability Assistance


Audio-Reader

The Audio-Reader Network is a reading and information service for blind, visually impaired, and print disabled individuals in Kansas and western Missouri. Services are offered free of charge to anyone in our listening area who is unable to read normal printed material.

Independence, Inc. 

Advocacy, peer support, training, transportation, and community education in support of people with disabilities. Resources include a publicly accessible computer lab with a variety of assistive technologies, a medical equipment loan bank, and a selection of specialized phones available through the Telecommunications Access Program (TAP).

Lawrence Meals On Wheels serves hot, nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and/or disabled Monday through Friday.
