Important Dates and Deadlines

  • October 14, 2025: Deadline to register to vote or to update your voter registration for the 2025 general election
  • October 15, 2025: Advance in-person voting for the general election begins
  • October 28, 2025: Last day to apply for an advance voting mail ballot for the general election
  • November 3, 2025: Advance in-person voting for the general election ends at noon
  • November 4, 2025: General election, 7 AM–7 PM

Civic Engagement 101 is an annual series of events at the library that highlights areas of current interest as well as lesser known histories.

Understanding the Constitution, opens a new window

  • Deepen your understanding of this fundamental founding document with a brief introduction from Professor Amii Castle of KU followed by a reading of selected passages of the Constitution by community members.

Mapping Inequality, opens a new window

  • Explore the history of redlining in Kansas and its lingering impact on today’s communities with Donna Rae Pearson, Museum Specialist at the Kansas Historical Society. This presentation is part of Humanities Kansas's Speakers Bureau, featuring humanities-based presentations designed to share stories that inspire, spark conversations that inform, and generate insights that strengthen civic engagement.
