2025 How-To Festival
SAT | Jun 7 | 10 AM-1 PM
Auditorium, Atrium, and Library Lawn
The Lawrence Public Library is currently looking for presenters to participate in our eighth How-To Festival! Last year’s event was a hit, and we hope you will help us make this year's festival even bigger and better!
This year we will have presenters offering demonstrations or sharing information in the library's auditorium and atrium and outside on the library lawn to allow our attendees to take in Lawrence’s diverse know-how at their own pace. Don’t worry about being a professional speaker or presenter. If you have a skill, talent, or hobby you’d like to share with the community, now’s your chance! Tell us a little about yourself by applying today.
- In keeping with this year's Summer Reading theme--"Color Our World / Colorea Nuestro Mundo"--we'd especially love to encourage applications that focus on creativity and visual and applied arts.
- Since this year’s How-To's will mostly be demonstrations rather than formal presentations, we’d like participants to commit to staying for the entire Festival.
- If you are selected to participate, we will provide tables, chairs, and canopies for shade, but you will be responsible for set up and any additional items you may need.
- This is a volunteer opportunity. If you represent an organization or business you’re welcome to bring promotional material, but no sales will be allowed.
- We will have a "Kid Expert" category for presenters who are 7-17 years of age. If you fall in this category, please list a parent's name in the application.
- We realize the drop-in format won’t be best for all topics. If you’re interested in giving a more formal presentation at the library on another date, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Application deadline: Sunday, May 4, 2025
Date selected presenters will be notified: Friday, May 9, 2025
