Warm Hearts of Douglas County

From January 1-April 30th, up to $500 for energy bill assistance. Includes gas, electric, propane, or wood. Warm Hearts makes utility payments on your behalf directly to the utility company or vendor. In addition to support from Warm Hearts, you can apply for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP, opens a new window).

  • Apply at Ballard Center, ECKAN, Senior Resource Center, Catholic Charities, or Salvation Army
  • One of the above agencies will meet with you to verify that you meet eligibility requirements

Eligibility Requirements

  • Reside within Douglas County
  • Meet gross income guidelines based on current Federal Poverty Guidelines
  • Paid at least $25 or 10% of their fuel bill, whichever is less, during the period of time for which assistance is requested
  • Have verifiable income information for the 3 months preceding the date of the application
