Treatment and Recovery Center of Douglas County

The Treatment & Recovery Center (TRC) of Douglas County program is operated by the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, Inc. 1000 W 2nd St, Lawrence, KS 66044.

The purpose of the TRC is to provide excellence in the assessment, treatment and coordination of crisis care for all people experiencing a psychiatric, substance use, or co-occurring disorder. It serves as the lifeline for immediate access to care and connects people to community resources that put them on the journey to recovery.

  • The Urgent Care Unit is the front door entrance of the TRC. It serves all Douglas County residents, children and adults. At the Urgent Care Unit, community members will have immediate access to behavioral health crisis assessment and treatment.
  • Urgent Care Unit is open open for walk-ins on weekdays 8am-8pm and on weekends from noon-4pm, 365 days a year. Crisis walk-ins are accepted 24/7. 
    • Level's of services available at the urgent care: triage/assessments, psychiatric med evaluations & prescriptions, referrals, initial treatment planning, assessments, and coordination of care. Community members can return for follow up as needed.
