It's Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Month. All month long, we're celebrating the importance of stories in preschoolers' lives as a necessary, and fun, pre-literacy activity. This year we're featuring the beautiful book Time for Bed by Mem Fox. If you join us, you'll get a free book, a fun storywalk, and a chance to win a gift card to The Toy Store! Here's what we have on tap for you:
Sign up for and complete the following activities for the Kansas Reads to Preschoolers challenge on Beanstack:
- Join us the week of November 1 to hear us read Time for Bed by Mem Fox at all of our storytimes. If you miss an in-person storytime, you can always watch an online storytime from the same week on our Facebook or Youtube.
- Pick up a free copy of Time for Bed at storytime or from the Readers' Theater (while supplies last).
- Read Time for Bed while you walk on Mass Street. We have pages from the book posted in downtown storefront windows. Check the map to get started!
- Challenge yourself and your preschooler to read 100 books this month (Multiple readings of the same book(s) count. We know how it is).
- Check out a book bundle or one of our new-ish Wonderbooks to make sure you hit that 100 book goal.
