LPL’s Best Movies of 2022

Another year has come and gone. Once again we have an end of the year "best of" list for you.
Here are our favorite movies from 2022:

Jake C- X or Pearl - A24 has been releasing many great movies this year. This studio is reinventing the movie industry with unique and thought provoking storytelling. I haven't been disappointed with anything that this studio releases.

Tricia -Summer of Soul (...or When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) - Not to be missed! Exuberant, joyful, powerful musical performances accompanied by interviews with participants that convey what a transformative and strengthening experience this festival was. Loved it completely - especially enjoyed the sets by Mahalia Jackson with the Staples Singers, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, a very young Aretha Franklin, and Sly and the Family Stone.

Mary - Turning Red, I'm still not over how well this movie captured the experience of a 13 year old girl in the 2000's

Becky -Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris  Fun and fashion!  And the hero is a "mature" woman!

Kevin - Top Gun: Maverick , Nope, Speak No Evil, Moonfall

Grace -The Batman

Sean - Everything Everywhere All at Once. I'm not sure what can I say that has not already been said about this film. It's so much fun and the performances are top shelf.

Andrew - Everything Everywhere All at Once

Sage - Everything Everywhere All at Once

Adam - Everything Everywhere All at Once (also Barbarian)

Sarah - A tie between Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and Elvis

Max -Crimes of the Future

Kate -Nope

Angela L -The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun

Ruth -The Duke with Helen Mirren.  Need I say more?

Teagan-Barbarian, but I don't think we have it, so I'll go with Pearl

Therese - Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris--Lesley Manville is everywhere these days and I couldn't be happier about it. It was nothing revolutionary, but it was a real delight to watch!

Traci -Where the Crawdads Sing
