About Adult Literacy at LPL
How to Become a Tutor
Helping your community learn to read is a fun and rewarding way to build collective unity. Volunteer tutors are at the heart of the Adult Literacy program at LPL.
There are three parts to the overall training: Two in-person sessions and online modules to complete in between those two sessions.
Full training takes approximately 10-12 hours. Tutors are required to commit to working with students for at least one hour per week for 6 months (but, hopefully longer).
Check to see if we have an upcoming training scheduled below, and if not, email us (contact info below) to get notified when the next one is scheduled!
To learn more about the program before you register for training, join us at one of our monthly volunteer meetings.
