Ready for Good, Job Training Program

Furnished for Good program is for youth aged 14-17 years old, living in Douglas County, and involved in either the child welfare or juvenile justice system, or homeless.

Furnished for Good is a job readiness program. Participants go at their own pace to complete program requirements, which include learning a 22-lesson curriculum, working a minimum 25 hours in a nonprofit furniture store while earning wages for the work, preparing for interviews, and completing a resume draft. Life and Job Skills classes are also offered and are useful especially for youth transitioning to adulthood.

Staff are trained to connect with and meet needs of youth who have been through trauma. The program offers a safe, playful, and fun environment where youth get to connect to staff trainers and mentors who are there to help youth heal, grow and thrive.
