NAMI of Douglas County (National Alliance on Mental Illness)

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI works to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.

  • NAMI offers an Evidence Based Program called "Family To Family", which includes eight online sessions taught by a team of trained volunteers who also have family members living with neurological disorders. The goal of this educational course is to help family members, caregivers, significant others and friends understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well being. Sessions will provide information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other neurological disorders as well as how to manage stress, problem-solve, communicate and more.
