How to Volunteer for the Library

Volunteering with Friends & Foundation is a great way to give back to the amazing Lawrence Public Library. Each hour worked generates around $23.80 for the Library! Here’s how you can get involved:

Step 1: Fill out an application

Our application can be found here.

Step 2: Attend the New Volunteer Orientation

In orientation, you will learn about all the ways you can support the Library as a Friends & Foundation volunteer. (1 hour)

Step 3: Schedule training

After orientation, we’ll schedule you for a training session based on your interests. (1.5 hours)

Work with a mentor (optional)

Come in for your first volunteer session with a mentor available to answer any of your questions.

Step 4: Volunteer when you can

Come in any time the Library is open and work as many or few hours as your schedule allows.

If you have any issues, contact Angela by phone or email.
