- NOTE: The library doesn't have control over hotspot performance — if you can’t get a signal, try moving around in your location
Library Wi-Fi Hours | 7 AM–10 PM | Daily
(Look for the network named "Lawrence Public Library" and acknowledge the disclaimer page for access.)
We've expanded our MIDCO Wi-Fi coverage on the library grounds as well as extended coverage as far as possible to cover the following:
- West Side (Kentucky Street)
- 14 parking spaces, possibly some park coverage in the playground area and in front of the aquatic center.
- North Side (7th Street)
- 17 parking spaces, Greyhound waiting area, Greyhound bus passengers while parked.
- East Side (Vermont Street)
- 11 parking spaces (2 located in accessible parking spots), city bus stop / parked buses, possible coverage of some amount of the parking lot at SE corner of 7th and Vermont.
- South Side (Library Lawn and Parking Garage)
- Library Lawn green space, benches, 16 parking spaces on the north side of the ground floor of the parking garage (note: won't work on higher levels due to the mesh cladding), farmers market, book sales, and other events.
1 Year of MIDCO Lifeline Internet access
- Low-income residents may be eligible to receive one year of free MIDCO internet service in their homes through the federal Lifeline program.
- Applicants first must be approved through a National Verifier system.
- Assistance with the certification process is available through the library and its non-profit partner agencies.
- This service is limited to 200 households on a first-come, first-served basis.
