About the Library

Lawrence Public Library (LPL for short) is a community hub that believes in sharing knowledge and resources. We empower our community to imagine more together to grow a world we can all believe in by learning, connecting, creating, and growing with our vast collections, resources, services, programs, and humans.

The Library is supported by tax dollars, the Friends of the Library book sales, the philanthropic efforts of the Lawrence Public Library Foundation, and the dedicated efforts of more than 300 volunteers.

Come say hello! We're located in the heart of downtown Lawrence, KS, which means a quick walk to a wide array of meal options, daylife, nightlife, and local businesses.
