Lawrence Public Library (LPL for short) is a community hub that believes in the power of shared knowledge, resources, and connecting with each other. We're located in the heart of downtown Lawrence, Kansas and are committed to providing a space where our community can learn, connect, create, and grow through access to our vast collections, resources, services, programs, and knowledgeable staff.
The Library is supported by tax dollars, Friends of the Library Book Sales, philanthropic efforts by the Lawrence Public Library Foundation, and the dedicated efforts of more than 300 volunteers. All are welcome.
We have bike racks right out front and a bike repair fix-it station on the east side of the parking garage.
Visitors get free wi-fi, study and meeting spaces, deep conversations and light coffee talks, giant windows to the world, cozy reading nooks for kids, books that span the breadth of humanity and a Book Squad eager to help match you with your next great read.
